Depending on the method of interpreting, the result is called knowledge, error or belief. Knowledge is an identification of a fact of reality. Knowledge is certain (true) because identifying is based on the evidence of perceptual observations and logical reasoning. (To identify is to perceive, select and describe a group of existents and a relation between them.) An error is a misidentification of reality. An error is false because it is the result of incorrect logical reasoning. A belief is a guess about reality. A belief is uncertain (true or false) because guessing is based on insufficient evidence, or disregarding contradictory evidence. in my KR language ================= proposition := man do recognize od existent done proposition is either knowledge or error or belief identify is correct recognize knowledge := man do identify od existent done misidentify is incorrect recognize error := man do misidentify od existent done belief := man do guess od existent done All input to Knowledge Explorer is assumed to be knowledge, e.g.: at view=myview sentence1 implies myview := I do identify od existent done When the input explicitly mentions knowledge or belief, Knowledge Explorer automatically creates additional views, e.g.: John do know od {sentence2} done John do believe od {sentence3} done produces (in addition to the 2 lines of knowledge above): know_John := John do identify od existent done believe_John := John do guess od existent done at view=know_John {sentence2} at view=believe_John {sentence3}
